Our Love Story

It all started on a regular Wednesday morning—June 26, 2024, at exactly 7:10 a.m. I received a simple, work-related WhatsApp message:

"Good morning, my name is Nifemi… I'll be coming to court today, please may I know the court's number or the Judge's name, thank you."

For context, Nifemi worked with a PR company that supported my organization in court matters. She wasn't the usual representative on court days, but fate decided she would be the one to show up that morning.

We met in court, exchanged polite greetings, and mostly minded our own business. The only time we teamed up was when we confronted the court registrar together. There was something about Nifemi that caught my attention, but at the time I brushed it off as a passing thought: "She's pretty, maybe that's all." After court, we said goodbye and went our separate ways—but for some reason, she stayed on my mind.

I thought of striking up more conversation that day, maybe even offering her a ride, but I didn't. Back at work, I worried I had missed my chance. It felt awkward to start chatting her up after barely speaking when I had the opportunity. And worse, there was no guarantee she would be back on the next court date, set for 17th July. So, I prayed—asking God for just one more opportunity.

And then it happened. 17th July came, and once again, Nifemi was assigned to be in court. This time, I was ready. I dressed a little sharper than usual (my colleagues teased me about my "sudden fashion show") and made sure to sit right beside her. My plan was simple: start a conversation, find out her interests, leave it hanging, then ask to continue over a date.

But fate had its own twist. Nifemi needed a small favor that day, and I knew this was my moment. With a smile, I told her, "I'll help you, but on one condition—the details will come later." That afternoon, I cashed in my condition by asking her out on a date. She said yes.

On 20th July, 2024, we had our first date. From that moment, everything just flowed. I knew without a single doubt that I had found my wife.

The rest, as they say, is history. Since that day, it has been a journey filled with love, laughter, and certainty. We both knew—we had found our life partners.

And now, here we are, joyfully preparing to tie the knot on 18th October, 2025. 💍✨
